Volunteer in Tampa

Looking to Volunteer in Tampa at AWH’s distribution center? You’ve come to the right place! Volunteers are the heart of our operations, and it is because of them that we can sort and catalog the huge volume of medical supplies and equipment that pass though our warehouse doors. Thanks to their generous assistance, we are able to recover and redistribute millions of pounds of medical supplies and equipment every year. Our volunteers typically sort and package surplus medical supplies to be sent overseas. The sorting sessions are three to four hours long. An orientation is performed at the beginning of the session, so please be on time. We look forward to partnering with you!

College Volunteers

As a college student, there are many volunteer opportunities in Tampa to help Advocates for World Health improve global healthcare – all while receiving community service hours! Please fill out the form on this page if you’re interested in any of the following options:

  • Commit to an introductory orientation and sorting party either by yourself or with your chapter. We have a tremendous need for sorting and inventorying the high volumes of surplus medical supplies that we move.
  • University clubs, sororities, and fraternities often sponsor shipments of medical supplies by holding fundraisers on campus and in their communities.
  • Start and/or join a chapter at the University of Tampa, University of South Florida, or Hillsborough Community College. Being that our distribution center is nearby, we have placed a particular focus on various colleges in the area.

Corporate Volunteers

There are also many corporate volunteer opportunities in Tampa for our sponsors. We invite corporations to volunteer in Tampa by joining our sorting parties. You bring the manpower and we’ll teach your team how to intake, document, and sort the pallets of donations we bring in every day. Corporate volunteers often find a sense of camaraderie by doing charitable work together and feel enriched knowing their efforts are helping to save lives and reduce medical waste. For more information on how you can start a corporate volunteer program with us, please contact us via the form on this page! Note: We now open our distribution center for Saturday sorting parties for corporate volunteers hoping to assist in large groups!

Individual Volunteers

Neither a student nor volunteering with your company? Not a problem! We welcome all individuals who want to help us out, even if it’s for a day. With the huge volume of donations we receive, there is always something to do! To get involved, please fill out the form located on this page.
